Dominican Republic 2004

Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo, Casa De Campo, Samana - 2004
My father of my girlfriend at the time, now wife, is Dominican and still has family there, mostly in the capital of Santo Domingo.  We usually try and visit yearly although we did miss a few years.  Each trip we spend a few days with family in the city, La Fey or Naco section of Santo Domingo usually, then a few days at a resort, either Samana, Las Terrenas, Punta Cana, Boca Chica, or other beach areas, we have been all over that side of Hispaniola.  Beautiful, complicated country, filled with warm people who has endured much over the years.

Family's house in La Fey area of Santo Domingo, a block away from the Baseball stadium.

A block away away from the house is a produce market in an open lot.  Lots of live animals running around, but mostly plants and vegetables.

Beautiful, weird mangroves.

The caves in the park are also worth visiting.  There are amazing caves all over the Dominican Republic.
