ELEPHANT NATURE PARK, CHIANG MAI, THAILAND
Visiting Elephants is one of the most exciting and alluring part about Chiang Mai, but its important to visit the right place. Do not ride Elephants, a mistake I have admittedly made on a previous trip, instead, visit the Elephant Nature Park and spend the day caring for these magnificent creatures. "No food, no friend" is the motto, as you keep feeding the Elephants along the way from the pouch they provide you stuffed with Sugar Cane, Banana, Watermelon or Pineapples. Their tongue are surprisingly soft but just as gooey as I expected. We spent a few hours wondering on dirt paths so narrow and rocky that some of the humans had problems getting their footing. Yet the two ton animals picking up steam behind us had no such problem. They are big and bold animals that move with grace and look you in the eye. Amazing creatures.
