Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Visiting family each year in the the Dominican Republic is always special. This is the fist time we've bypassed Santo Domingo and flown directly to Punta Cana. In another first, this was a huge family reunion to celebrate the 80th Birthday of my wife's uncle. We stayed at Barcelo Punta Cana , amazing beach and staff, decent food.
Flying into Punta Cana Airport, the view was stunning.
The beach was wide so it did not feel crowded, and the sand was soft. Not a single rock could be found; nothing sharp in the sand or in the water. The waves were surprising big.
Perfect beach.
On our first night, we had dinner in the Dominican Restaurant, one of the 6 non-buffet restaurants in the Resort. Good, simple, Dominican Food.
On Saturday night we ate at the Italian Restaurant. The food was decent, but the company was excellent, and that's what the trip was all about.
